Crayola Broadline Markers

When I was younger, I spent a lot of time drawing characters using Crayola Broadline markers with the cone tips. Those markers were my favorite because I could make clean lines, small details, and different shades just by tilting the tip. Every page felt full of life and color.

Drawing characters at breakfast. I love it.

I drew characters every day. After the page was full, I spread them on the floor or on a table to see all the personalities together. Some characters were happy, some were serious, some were silly, and some were calm. I liked giving each one a different mood or expression.

Using a Lot of Black

Black was my most used color. I went through black markers faster than any other color—way faster. I used black for outlines, mustaches, eyebrows, shoes, shadows, and small details. I used it every single day. My parents started noticing that my Crayola sets would be half full, except all the black markers were already worn out.

Black was important because it brought the characters to life.

Ordering a Whole Case of Black Markers

One day my mom told me she had ordered a whole case of black markers from Amazon because I used them so fast. I thought that was funny and exciting. It made me happy because I never wanted to stop drawing just because I ran out of black.

Having extra black markers meant I could keep working on new characters without waiting for a new pack.

Pages Full of Characters

I filled page after page with colorful characters—little rectangles, circles, animals, objects, machines, ideas, foods, and imaginary creatures. They felt like a whole world living on paper.

More characters. I would draw pages and pages when I was younger.

Sometimes I would organize them into groups and make stories in my head. Sometimes I cut them out and carried them around. Creating characters was my favorite part of the day.

Crayola Still Makes Me Smile

Even now, when I see Crayola cone-tip markers, I feel nostalgic. They remind me of mornings at the kitchen table, drawing with my snacks nearby, and filling whole pages with imagination.

I still draw characters today, just not as much as when I was younger—but the feeling is the same every time I start a new page.
